Uncle Tom Beaulieu and I
Uncle Tom, my mother Priscilla's brother, was undoubtedly my favorite uncle. His passing was a severe emotional and social blow to me. He would often visit and stay for months at a time. Here we are at Old Uppsala in Sweden, home to royal burial mounds from the 5th century and once a significant Norse cultic center. Uncle Tom was fascinated by it. Some people believe the three large mounds are the burial sites of the gods Thor, Odin, and Freyr.
